Wonderful community spirit was in the air at Windmill Primary School on Saturday 13th May when volunteers took time out to paint Reception’s fence a multitude of bright, vibrant colours.

Parents, grandparents, staff and their families all joined together to prepare and then paint the fence.  It was a mammoth task, taking from 10am to 4.00pm, but, as I’m sure you will agree, the result is outstanding.

Mrs Samra kept the team happy, providing hot drinks and snacks.  Music played – ABBA was a favourite, with all adults brushing paint strokes in time to ‘Fernando’ while singing along too!

A fish and chip lunch was brought in by one family and everyone had a short rest and enjoyed piping hot food.  Paint brushes weren’t down for long though, as everyone had the painting bug!

We can’t wait till the children arrive on Monday and see the new colourful fence surrounding their play area.  We’re sure there will be many smiling faces.

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers – we can’t thank you enough.
