Year 6 Leavers' Assembly

Today we said good bye to our Year 6 children who are heading out on their journey to secondary school.  Their Leavers’ Assembly was not as we had hoped and planned but it was special.  We hope the messages and videos on this page help to bring the event to life for you.

Good bye message from Mrs Sangwine

I’m sure that you are all disappointed that you are unable to celebrate the end of your time at Windmill Primary School in the way you will have wished. I too am so sorry that I am not able to visit you all for your final assembly, as we discussed this time last year when I was retiring. The Covid pandemic lockdown has challenged us all, however I know that you will all have done your best to keep aiming high and making good progress in your learning. Above all else, I’m sure that you have worked hard on demonstrating the important skills of resilience and persistence when things have seemed very difficult.

Although you are feeling sad and perhaps a little nervous about leaving Windmill School, I hope that you are also feeling excited about the new experiences and challenges that await you in your new secondary schools.

I hope that you all have a brilliant summer break and that you soon settle into your Year 7 classes in September.

Have fun and continue to strive to be the best that you can be.

With love and best wishes

Mrs Sangwine.

Good bye message from Mrs Scragg

I’d like to thank all our Year 6 children, whether they’ve been with us from the very start or whether they’ve joined us along the way.  Each and every one of you has a special place in my heart and has given me wonderful memories that I will treasure forever.

Wherever the next part of your journey takes you and whatever you achieve I will always be thinking of you and wishing you well.  I’m so proud of you and know that you will make your new teachers equally proud.

Keep aspiring and shooting for the stars.  Be respectful to all those you meet and show your integrity at all times. Above all, through the twists and turns of the next few years, be resilient.

Love to you all

Mrs C Scragg

Poem from Miss Shuman

My first year fours to the very first year six,

The joy and laughter, all in the mix,

From Romans to soldiers, aboard ships and casting spells,

We travelled across worlds and through time warps as well.

Team Work, Miss Shuman

I’ve enjoyed every day with you all by my side,

The adventures and learning you tackled with pride,

As your journey is ending at Windmill school soon,

The adventure continues and I know you will zoom.

You Rock, Miss Shuman

I’m so proud of you all and what you’ve achieved,

Each one of you is special and ready to succeed,

Enjoy the next step and the challenge it brings,

Your Windmills first leavers,

So go do amazing things!

Make Me Proud, Miss Shuman

Good bye and Good Luck

Miss Shuman
