Remote Learning

Welcome to our Remote Learning page.

On this page we will upload important information regarding remote learning during absence from school due to Covid-19.

Remote learning will provide learning across the curriculum and children will be expected to spend a similar amount of time completing this, as they would spend learning in school.

In the event of a change in the pandemic and another national lockdown, daily lessons and tasks will be uploaded for the children to complete online.  There will be a mixture of recorded and live content with follow up activities. Teachers will check in with children and families too.

The learning will follow this daily format:

  • In Reception - 1 English input, 1 Maths input, 1 phonics input and assorted activities related to the Foundation Stage Areas of Learning.
  • In Key Stage 1 - 1 English lesson, 1 Maths lesson, a phonics lesson and another lesson from the foundation subjects.
  • In Key Stage 2 - 1 English lesson, 1 Maths lesson, a reading session and 2 lessons from the foundation subjects.

Seesaw will be the primary access point for learning in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, and Tapestry will be used for Reception.  Mr Syson-Harvey will also be setting some practical challenges, reading stories and delivering his usual assemblies throughout the week on Seesaw.  We will continue to use Purple Mash too for reinforcement activities so please continue to access it.

In addition, each child will be supplied with a pack of workbooks, exercise books and reading books to be used throughout the National Lockdown.

The expectation is that children at home will be completing the same tasks as the children in school.

The document below, "Providing remote education information to parents - Windmill Jan 2021" provides clarity and transparency to pupils and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home.

Please contact the school office (01189 029 123) if you have any questions regarding remote learning or need password details confirmed.
