Year 3 - Butser Ancient Farm Trip

Year 3 Trip to Butser Ancient Farm

We have arranged an exciting trip to Butser Ancient Farm on Wednesday 18th November 2026 for our Year 3 children.

The children will take part in a range of hands-on activities to support their learning about prehistoric Britain. They will experience what life was like thousands of years ago through activities including:

We will be travelling by coach (equipped with three-point seatbelts), which will leave school during the morning and is expected to return at approximately 4:00pm. Children will therefore need to be collected from school at 4:00pm.

Dress:
We request that all children wear full school uniform and suitable footwear, such as trainers, for the visit.

Lunch:
Our catering provider, Aspens, can provide a school packed lunch on the day, or children may bring a packed lunch from home. If you are providing a packed lunch, please remember that we are a nut-aware school and ask that no nut-based products are included. Please also avoid cans, glass bottles and fizzy drinks.

Water:
Every child should bring a named bottle of water.

We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £44.50 per child to cover the cost of the visit, which includes transport and the four workshops, where children will explore different aspects of life in prehistoric Britain.

Payment should be made via ParentMail by Friday 13th November 2026.  Please contact the school office if you experience any difficulties accessing ParentMail or making payment.

This contribution is voluntary, and neither you nor your child will be treated differently if you are unable or choose not to contribute. However, please note that without sufficient voluntary contributions, this visit may have to be cancelled, as the school is unable to fund the trip from existing budgets.

An electronic permission form for the trip must be completed by Monday 2nd November 2026, giving consent for your child to participate in the visit. The form will also ask you to:

To complete the form, please access the Forms section within your ParentMail app.

This promises to be an exciting and educational visit, providing the children with a memorable opportunity to bring their learning about prehistoric Britain to life.
