Diwali Workshop - Reception to Year 6

Diwali Dance Workshop – Monday 9th November 2026

We are pleased to let you know that children in Reception to Year 6 will be taking part in a Diwali Dance Workshop on Monday 9th November 2026 during the school day.

Led by a professional dancer, this exciting and interactive workshop will introduce children to the story of the Ramayana and the festival of Diwali, one of the most important celebrations in the Hindu calendar. Through movement, storytelling and dance, children will explore the characters, themes and traditions associated with this festival.

The workshop will give children the opportunity to:

• Learn about the significance and traditions of Diwali
• Explore the story of the Ramayana through dance and movement
• Take part in creative, interactive activities led by a professional dancer
• Develop their understanding of different cultures and religions
• Create and perform a short dance piece with their class

This will be a fun, memorable and educational experience, helping to enrich children's understanding of world cultures and celebrations.

We are asking for a contribution of £3.85 towards the cost of the workshop. Payment can be made via ParentMail SchoolMoney by Friday 6th November 2026.

This contribution is voluntary, and neither you nor your child will be treated differently if you are unable or choose not to contribute. However, please note that without sufficient voluntary contributions, the workshop may have to be cancelled, as the school is unfortunately unable to fund the full cost from existing budgets.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to celebrating and learning about Diwali together.
