Reception Have Ducklings!

The children have been so excited; it's been wonderful to see them care for our fluffy friends. We observed how some of the eggs were blue, and some were white. We were amazed at all the different markings and colours they were when they hatched! We've watched them grow from egg to confident little swimmers in 2 weeks; the children particular love watching them dive under water! We made a duckling run from various blocks and watched them roam around the space.

This has tied in nicely with our 'Ugly Duckling' topic, where we've had lots of conversations about differences. As a group, we've talked about how no one is ugly, we are all just different, and it's a good thing that we are all unique in our own ways.
