What have Puffin Class Been Doing?

In Puffin class, we have been enjoying our new curriculum focus 'Super Shelters'. As part of this learning journey, we have been learning about day and night, thinking about our daytime and nighttime routines. We have also learned about nocturnal and diurnal animals, and their shelters. We went on a shelter hunt around the school, spotting all of the different shelters e.g. canopies, sheds and teepees.

We have read 'A Mouse for Christmas House' and have begun to think about the skills we will need to make our own junk modelled house for the Christmas mouse. We are excited to receive our very own fluffy (toy!) mice soon.

The children have amazed us with their rapid progress in phonics. So many of the children are beginning to blend and read words using 'Fred talk'. Our handwriting is also coming along beautifully and we are working hard on using the correct grip when writing.
