In Nursery Duckling Class, we have had a busy time since returning from the half term break!
We have been looking at recycling and how to look after our world. We went on a recycling hunt around the school grounds and found lots to add to our poster of saving the planet! Hopefully, the children will be able to identify recyclable items at home, including yoghurt pots, cardboard, milk bottles, cereal boxes, etc. These items are also great for junk modelling which the children have used to turn in to pen pots in Nursery!
We have also been finding out about how we celebrate in our life and why, we have incorporated this into our environment, in our home corner and mark making area with a party set up! With balloons, banners and cake! We made party invites for our friends and our very own paper balloons which even flew (ever so slightly) in the wind!
The older nursery children have had many opportunities within their days to help with their transition for September of moving up to Reception, this involves having lunch in the school hall and joining discovery time in Puffin Class. Which has been a great success so far, the social time in the lunch hall really is a lovely moment to sit and talk about our morning together.
