Reception - What have we been doing?

Our Reception Puffin class have had an excellent start to this Spring term. We are always blown away with the progress that they make and this term we are again so proud of the children's attitudes to learning.

We are now producing beautiful pieces of writing, writing labels and sentences. An example was when the children wrote labels for the characters from The Gingerbread Man. Lots of the children have spontaneously chosen to play teachers in their discovery time, practising their letter formation on whiteboards.

In maths, we have been thinking about the order of numbers and how numbers are composed. We loved using the song Five Little Speckled Frogs to explore the composition of 5.

As part of our GLF curriculum, we have been learning about water. We have looked at different water sources, talked about water safety and set ourselves the job of not wasting water at home or in school. We also learned to retell The Gingerbread Man story and are excited to make our own boats for the gingerbread man to travel across the river in.
